E-MAIL FRAUD (PHISHING)

E-mail fraud (also known as phishing), impacting financial institutions and their customers is becoming more prevalent. To guard against this activity and to protect ourselves and our clients, it's important to be aware and educated about this type of fraud.

Often the phishing e-mail tells you that the bank's security procedure has changed or that they need you to update or validate your information, and then direct you to a look-alike Web site. If you respond, the offender can perpetrate identity theft or compromise your accounts.

GSL Savings Bank or any subsidiary, does not send e-mails to current customers asking them to visit any Web site to reveal personal or private information. If you receive any e-mail message requesting the recipient to log in to OnLine Banking and provide your account number, user ID, password, ATM/Debit card number, PIN or any other confidential information or visit any Web site, do not respond or click on any of the links. You should be suspicious if asked for any information and never give out this information over an unsecured connection.

Should you receive an e-mail from a GSL SAVINGS BANK affiliate that you may suspect to be fraudulent, we ask you that you immediately forward the suspected e-mail to mailbox@gslsavings bank.com. The original e-mail may contain information that identified where it originated, which assists us in shutting down the Web site.
